Californians for Justice believes that in order to achieve the transformative change we want to see in our schools, and communities we must create systematic change that transforms policies, perceptions and practices, so that the voices of low-income, immigrant, LGBTIQ students and students of color are heard, valued and reflected in the decisions that directly impact their lives.
The Student Voice Campaign involves students and communities across California through grassroots outreach. Students, parents and community members become engaged in the educational political process and learn about the issues while they get involved. CFJ engages youth through student-led high school teams, summer leadership academies, student “know your rights” trainings, and skill building in media and policy work.
