School counselors are someone in schools who students of all grade levels consistently raise as being important to them. Whether they are guidance counselors or mental health professionals, these individuals can assist students with complicated personal decision-making, choosing the right educational pathway, and finding assistance for challenges they face in schools.
There are many issues school counselors face, including receiving support for their exceptional roles in schools. One of the issues is ongoing funding for their positions in schools. Meaningful Student Involvement is relevant to school counselors for many reasons, including the role it can play in student retention, school culture, student ownership and the sense of agency students can develop.
