Political Rallies

Meaningful Student Involvement in political rallies extends far beyond simply using young people to decorate adult causes by engaging students as partners in planning, facilitating, and participating throughout political activities. These can include rallies, committees, conferences, and more.

Politics affect students in schools in every single way. It is well-documented that curriculum, classroom interactions, teaching approaches, outcomes, hallway climate, and every other factor in schools is affected by politics, which in turn impact students directly.

Engaging students in political rallies should include much more than simply propping learners up for photo opportunities or otherwise tokenizing them. Instead, it should mean meaningful student involvement, complete with learning goals and sustainable roles, and much more.
